Well, we have been hunting for the new family car. Steven has had a lot of fun. Matt just needs to know where to sign. Lucky for me I have some very patient friends who don't mind that I want to look at EVERY car. I went searching for 2 particular cars & wound up falling for a totally different car.
For quite some time now, I have gravitate towards the Buick Rendezvous & the Saturn Outlook. So when I set out 2 weekends ago, I really thought this is what I would buy. Well the Outlook is just too new that they don't have many used cars to choose from & what they did have was not in our price range. The Rendezvous is apparently a great SUV. So great that no one trades them in! I only found 3 all of which had a ton of miles on them & therefore off the list. So among my list of "OK I guess I'll look at them" were Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer or Expedition, Mercury Mariner, Chevy Trail Blazer & even a minivan (@Matt's request). After searching high & Low, Steven & I fell in love with the Trail Blazer EXT. It's awesome & has few extras that we didn't find in the other SUVs. It has a 3rd row seating that comes up from the back & climate control in the back 2 rows. Don't forget a plug for DVD players & charging the DS-es.
Now that I had found the type of car we wanted..... It was time for the big purchase. But where to go??? Let the bidding wars begin...... To Be Continued.......

April Fool's Day.... not so funny
So April 1st is usually a day for fun pranks & practical jokes.... This year was not the case. Michelle & I were heading home after running some errands when things went horribly wrong. As I was driving on the highway, we were passing this beat-up van. I heard a niose & commented "Man that car is making a loud noise." Um.. yeah... it wasn't the van. We passed the van & realized the noise didn't go away. It was my car making the noise. I was about to pull over whe n the noise got faster, then a popping sound. I really thought it was my tire blowing out. I stopped the car, checked the back tires then looked forward to see my car "steaming". Not good. I just a sinking feeling. I go through the craziness/frustration of finding my insurancecard, calling roadside assistance & finding a towing company. I am happy to say the southern hospitality is not dead. I did have a guy stop to see if he could help. He confirmed what I had been fearing.... my car was out of oil. What sucks the most is that I was trying to bring my car into the garage the Saturdy before but they were very busy & couldn't get it done in the time I needed. I had planned on taking it in the next day. Talk about bad timing!!!
So after the mechanic looked at my car, he explained that it had practically not oil at all. I should have know that My car was low even though the light had just come on that trip. Normally when that happens, I know that I have to do it soon- not immediately! Anyway, he made me feel totally inadequate..... Then he laid on the news. It was going to cost $6,000 to fix it. Now I don't know about anyone else, but I don't have that kind of cash just laying around. So I told him that I'd think about it. Needless to say, we are looking for a new car.
The only keeping me from total despair was Steven's musical about geology. It definitely took my mind off of thithing ngs & it was very cute. The story goes.... Professor Rock is missing. Where can he be? In the volcanic region? No In the mountain? No How about the ferns in the rain forest, would they know? Well actually ferns are very sneaky. They kidnapped Professor Rock. Along the way there were some clever songs about how geology "rocks" (get it??). Of course, Steven was the best in the volcano chorus! And Steven's best friend, Matthew was the best Seashore in the history of 3rd grade plays. But I may be biased.
It was a perfect way to end a perfectly horrible day!!

And the Emmy goes to....
Steven chose to do a newscast for his biography project on The Beatles. He has been working on a few other smaller projects about the Beatles but this was his final project. It turns out he's pretty creative. -I don't know were he gets that from :)- He had so much fun doing this, but so did I!! Steven asked his best friend Matthew to join him in the newscast as well. You'll see Steven as "Chip Darling" anchor of CRE-3 News and Matthew as "Eddie Marco", a fan who was in attendance at the Ed Sullivan performance and "Sunny Myers", a weatherman. Thanks to Michelle & Mike for thier help on the prodcution of the video. I hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think!

Steven New Sport
Ok so hockey.... this has just started up recently. Steven's best friend Matthew is a big hockey/Nashville Predators fan & has gotten Steven into hockey. They've gone to a couple of games together. In December Matthew's dad found a clinic hosted by the Preds organization & signed Matthew up. This clininc is great because it gives kids a change to try out the sport wothout having to buy all the equipment first. They provide everything & kids get to keep their jersey, stick & of course- the mouth guard. Steven & I went to all the practices & so when it was offered again for Feb. Steven decided instead of signing up for soccer this season, he wanted to try hockey. It started 2 weeks ago. It was Steven's 1st time ever on the ice or skates even. He has a natural talent for it. I'm not over-exagerating when I say he did REALLY well. So this seems to be his new favorite passion for now. He has 2 more weeks left & then he can sign up for a 2nd clinic through the travel hockey team at the arena. Since Matt has been working alot lately, he hasn't seen Steven on the ice. So the other they went ice skating so Steven could show off his "mad skills". Matt was impressed.

Intro To Me
So I wanted a way that Steven, Matt & I (ok mostly me) can post keep everyone updated & post pictures with out emailing them & then having it take 20 minutes just to view the pictures. Since I haven't been keeping up with myspace & I can't seem to get a hang of Facebook(sorry Michelle), I figured I needed to try this thing called "blogging". Hopefully you'll all enjoy hearing about the crazy stuff going on & will post comments often. Then you all will need to start blogging & all the phone calls (or lack there of -my fault.... sorry) won't matter. So enjoy, I'll try to post often.
